WILLIAM J. DUMBLETON of Essex Junction, VT & Ticonderoga, NY passed away on May 26, 2007, along with his wife, Jeanne P. Dumbleton, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, April 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Edna M. (Gillen) Dumbleton. Mr. Dumbleton was a graduate of Leonia, NJ High School, and SUNY Maritime College of New York, Class of 1967.
He recently retired as port engineer from Lake Champlain Transportation in Burlington, where he was employed for over 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew M. Dumbleton of Burlington, VT, and Stephen T. Dumbleton of Essex Junction; one daughter, Katherine Dumbleton of Richford, VT; one brother, Peter H. Dumbleton of Bainbridge Island, WA.; one sister Elizabeth A. Burleigh of Saratoga Springs, NY; his mother-in-law, Eleanor J. Pearson, of Ticonderoga; and his brother-in-law, Donald Pearson of Warrensburg, NY He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
