RONALD STELTER, class of 1986, tragically, on July 6, 2007, passed away following complications from surgery. His loss has been terrible blow to his friends, family and colleagues.

Ron was born on March 3, 1964 in Zwolle, a rural town in the center of the Netherlands. Frank, Johanna, Ellen and Ron immigrated to the US in 1966. The family first lived on Long Island, where Rons younger brother Frank was born. The Stelters later moved to Syracuse.

In a misguided attempt to straighten out his rebellious ways, Ron decided to attend the New York Maritime College in the Bronx. The stories from his college days are legendary. In one, Ron and his friends were caught trying to steal the license plates from a Lamborghini parked outside a bar in Italy. The captain of the ship had to come bail the boys out of jail, where (if the story can be believed) they were being fed only pasta and water&

Miraculously, Ron received his Engineering degree in 1986. Jobs in the maritime industry were hard to come by, so after a few relaxing months at home, it was off to Ohio to start his new career in commercial insurance. After Ohio, Ron moved to Rochester, Richmond, and then Blackwood, NJ, settling into the apartment that was affectionately known as the cave.

In 1999, Ron met Jennifer Wirth in an Internet chat room. Ron claimed he was done with women. Jen replied: have you ever dated a Pisces before? You should give it a try! Jen was living with her daughter Amber and her mother in Brick, NJ. In 2000 Ron, Jen and Amber moved into the house on Elgin Ave in Collingswood. It was a big step for all of them, but somehow it worked. To everyones surprise (except maybe Jens) Ron developed a close relationship with Amber. He was always there to help her with homework and drive her to basketball games. Ron and Jen were married in 2003, in a ceremony none of his classmates will ever forget. It was a beautiful autumn day, and family and friends came from far away. As part of the wedding, Ron and Jen invited Amber to join them in a family unity ceremony. This made official what everyone already knew they were meant to be together.
