WILLIAM T. HANNAN JR., class of 1961, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Brighton, MA.
Born in Cornwall, N.Y., a son of the late William T. Hannan Sr. and Loretta (Clark) Hannan, he lived in Seekonk for 15 years.
He was a professor of military history at Hofstra University, Long Island, and the University of Montana. He received a bachelor of science degree from New York Maritime College at Fort Schuyler and a master's degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty there, and three tours in Germany. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Besides his wife, Marian (Mitchell) Hannan, he leaves a son, Thomas Hannan in Germany, and a brother, Robert Hannan of Cornwall on Hudson, NY.
