DUFFY, PAUL G, cflass of 1953, died August 24, 2011, due to complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born in Boston, MA, on August 28, 1930. Paul attended State University NY Maritime College. Paul, like his father Charles and brother Charlie, served honorably in the Navy from 1948 to 1957. As a Lieutenant LTG, he was stationed on the US Murray, at Subic Bay in the Philippines and in New Orleans.
After the Navy Paul worked for Canteen Corporation and worked there in various management capacities for over 25 years in Detroit, New York, Cleveland and Chicago. In his many years in Lake Forest, he served as a board member for Catholic Charities, Barat College and the Lake Forest Police. Paul is survived by his wife of 52 years Jo (nee Mack) Duffy; his children and their spouses Mike & Ann Marie, Pam & Ben and Kathy Duffy-Gernady & Jeff; grandchildren, Kayleen, Meghan, Patrick, Emma, Daniel, Karleen and Ryan and his nieces, Liz Brown and Amy Read. Paul was a loving husband, an inspirational father and a very involved grandfather. Besides his love of golf, his passions were: his Catholic faith, his marriage, his family and being Irish. His gift to his family and friends was love, passion and commitment. He truly lived a "Wonderful Life". 20 years ago, Paul was diagnosed with Parkinson's. He fought this disease with great courage and toughness.
