Tim, passed away a couple of days ago.
Timothy R Leitzell (67) peacefully passed away on March 9, 2014 at Accel at Hermann Park in Houston Texas. He grew up in Scio, NY graduating from Fort Schuyler - SUNY Maritime College with 2 BS degrees and a Third Mates License later obtaining a MBA, as well as a Masters License of Unlimited Tonnage and served as the Captain on the Exxon Gettysburg and later as the Port Captain of the Port of Houston. He worked at Exxon and was V-President of Shipping at ABS, as well as being a professor at A&M at Galveston's Maritime College. He worked on many projects, federally and internationally, holding numerous positions. He was well respected in maritime world receiving a multitude of honors. He is survived by his wife Pamela and children Matthew Leitzell, his children Coral, Kalie, Trent & Larson Leitzell; Meredith and Joe Mabry, her children Grant, Emmy & Sydney Mabry; Nathan Leitzell; Charlie Leitzell and his son CK Leitzell. His brothers are Bob, Dave, Ron & Richie Leitzell and their families. The family will receive friends Friday March 14, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 at Klein Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 9714 F.M. 2920, Tomball, Texas with services following at 2:00 p.m.
