It is with regret that we learn of the death of George J. Brandt, Jr., of Floral Park, NY, a member of the class of 1952, on August 13th after a lengthy illness.
Growing up in South Ozone Park, Queens, George was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech High School prior to attending Maritime. Upon graduation, he served on active naval duty during the Korean War on minesweepers. Upon completion of active duty, George worked as a mechanical engineer with the NY/NJ Port Authority while attending St. John's School of Law. During this time, he married his wife, Marie, for a marriage that has lasted for 57 years until his passing. With his law degree, George specialized in the field of patent law which he practiced up to his final years. He is survived by his wife Marie, eleven children, forty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday August 18th at St. Gregory The Great Church in New Hyde Park, NY with burial at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. John Ingraham '52 Class Secretary
