Passed away peacefully at home in Silver Spring, MD, August 22, 2015, surrounded by loving family. Born March 28, 1928, the son of Irish immigrants Edward Connors and Mary Ann O'Loughlin, in the Bronx, New York, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Mallon Connors and children, Kathleen Connors de Laguna (Javier), Daniel J. Connors, Jr. (Diane Ty), Stephen E. Connors (Colleen O'Leary) and Barbara Connors Woollen (Jeremy); 16 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and siblings, Joseph Connors, Washington, DC and Helen Ryan, Queens, NY. He will be reunited with his daughter, Ellen Connors Ervin, grandson, Robert Connors, his parents and siblings, Msgr. Edward Connors and Catherine (Kay) McDermott. A graduate of Regis High School, New York City and the New York State Maritime Academy, Ft. Schuyler, he served honorably as an officer in the U.S. Navy (Korean War), and later as an FBI special agent, a congressional liaison for the U.S. Army Materiel Command and in the federal Senior Executive Service as the Director of Enforcement, Federal Maritime Commission until his retirement. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD.
