Be advised of the passing of Bob Ryniker, Class of 1969.

He was an admiralty lawyer in the Houston area and at some point, he became the president of the Maritime College Alumni Association (Texas Chapter), running it successfully with Jack Szallai, Jim Burke, Tom Donovan and a few others. After retirement, he moved to Tampa Bay.
I took over as Texas Chapter president in 2002. I didnt want the position, but he encouraged me to take it and then helped me make transition, often holding my hand when I wasnt sure if I could do the job. His advice and guidance, regarding chapter work AND other industry issues, was very much welcomed.
He will be missed.

Alexa and I were there with him and he seemed at peace that evening in his own bed. Hospice had been here the day before and the breathing specialist had come in to adjust his machine for more comfort so we were very surprised that he didnt respond for us. I think hed had it this past week and was ready to leave us. Im so sorry that you have these plans made. Let me know what you will do. I need to tell John Reynolds yet but he is coming to Tampa on business so I believe his plans are still firm. Love to you and Honey. Cori Ryniker
