James R Baker relayed the sad news that his classmate,
CAPT. JAMES J BRENNAN died at his home in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY, last August 26. "JJ, as he was known to his class¬mates, was a member of the Masters Mates and Pilots and sailed his entire career for United States Lines, Inc. He was the first United States Line master to command one of their ECON class vessels. JJ retired in 1987 and last sailed as master of the SS APOLLO. He is survived by his brother John and nieces Kathleen, Amy, and Christine. JJ will be greatly missed at future college homecomings," Baker said in closing. "He enjoyed min¬gling with his classmates and exchanging sea stories."
