RAYMOND K LAMONT, 48, of Vernon, died Friday, (March 25, 2005) at home. He was born in Flushing, NY to the late Francis and Mary (Thomashunis) Lamont. He graduated from SUNY Maritime College at Fort Schuyler in 1978, receiving his B.E. in Marine Engineering, as well as his U.S. Coast Guard license as a Merchant Marine Officer. A lengthy career as an Engineer at Pratt & Whitney followed, where he worked for 23 years. Ray enjoyed history, fishing, traveling, cooking, skiing, and landscaping. He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Shea) Lamont; and adored daughter Elizabeth; a sister, Jane Heuremann and children, Peter and Sarah of Bloomsburg, PA; a sister, Karen Dorso and husband Charles of Franklin Park, NJ; as well as other special family members and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., (Rte. 83) Vernon. Burial will be in Village Cemetery in Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
